Over the past year, prices have gone up repeatedly, but over the last two months, the taste, portion sizes, and quality of the food have become extremely inconsistent. I am not sure if there has been a change in chefs or a significant drop in service quality. Aside from the food sometimes tasting worse (such as the Pad Thai), the portions for other entrées have gotten noticeably smaller recently. For instance, taking the Mapo Tofu with Fish Fillet as an example: a short while ago, a single order was sometimes so large that I couldn't finish it in one sitting. However, on every recent visit, the portion has shrunk so much that I often leave feeling hungry—which is disappointing, considering it costs $34 a dish before tip, which is certainly not cheap. The packaging has also changed: it went from a longer black takeout container to a round black one, and over the last two visits, it was changed again to a small white square container (the smallest capacity yet). I already brought these quality issues up with the restaurant over the phone when placing an order, but nothing has improved. Combined with the fact that their service has historically been subpar—I once waited at the counter for 15 to 20 minutes while the owner was on the phone before they finally came over to check me out, without even a simple "sorry to keep you waiting"—and the staff's general lack of hospitality, I likely won't be patronizing this restaurant as frequently as I used to.Posted on Google Hdgirl MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I hate 5 star reviews, I normally give a 10 point review. So here is it. I'll give this place overall, 9 points. There was 3 of us and we ordered the House Egg Foo Young and Chicken Lo Mein. We had plenty and some Lo Mein to take home. First off, The egg foo young was excellent! I usually rate a place by how good their egg foo young is. It is by far the best I've had in a long time! I would rate it 9.5. The Lo mein had a fairly good flavor but was a bit on the salty side and it could have had a bit more veggies and it would have been nice if it had some peapods, so I'll rate that an 8. The service was lacking a bit but the place was really busy for a sunday night, so I would rate that a 7 although the staff was really friendly. I liked the vibe of the place and I will definitely go back there when I'm on that side of town!Posted on Google W &Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been a patron of Peking Garden for several decades, starting when I was a college student at U of M and they were in Stadium Village. Therefore, my review is way overdue. For decades, Peking Garden has never disappointed me. Just last week, I went there with two of my family members for dinner. The three of us ordered 4 entrees: 1) Beef Chow Fun, 2) Sea Food Delight, 3) Brisket Radish Hot Pot, and 4) Hung Sui Tofu. The tastes, freshness, and overall quality of these dishes are top-notch and unsurpassed. In addition to the high-quality Chinese food, the staff members are always friendly and actively listening, maintaining a polite demeanor. In my opinion, Peking Garden is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Twin Cities metro area. And I highly recommend Peking Garden for dinner/lunch gatherings and special events.Posted on Google Real RTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Me and 2 other friends went there the other day and they gave themselves tips with out even telling us. I will never go back to eat at this so so food. That is horrible customer service. Too bad this place is mediocre at best. Reading some of these reviews...I would stay away for way over priced so so food.
